Large-scale Russian Attacks Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor died and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed nights of aerial attacks in the area, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were bracing for more assaults.
